As a parts model, I’m often asked how I keep my skin camera-ready. One word: MOISTURIZER.
My skincare is rather minimal, but my moisturizing is pretty obsessive.
Most of the time, I’m photographed in macro close-up, so even my nails need to be well nourished. Ever notice how dry nails become brittle and break?
Early on, I recognized I needed something premium enough for face, yet applicable on any part – even under eyes! I wanted a lotion with a lovely relationship to light so I got the ‘glow’, yet didn’t feel greasy or look shiny.
I took matters into my own hands and began creating lotion-potions in my kitchen, using essential oils and ingredients I grew up with while raised in California, by my manic organic mother.
When friends began asking for more homemade moisturizer, I teamed up with a top formulator and set out to spread the lotion love!
When I was a young child, my father owned one of the busiest restaurants in New Orleans. His philosophy for success: Give people quality at an affordable price.
I share this intention for Essentiel.
When my dad lost his life to drug addiction, my desire to heal and do something positive for the planet grew even stronger. No matter how painful the past, there’s always opportunity for growth.
For over a decade, I’ve watched NOLA Tree Project embody this spirit of rebuilding in beautiful ways. Since Hurricane Katrina, which killed 100,000 trees, NOLA Tree Project has planted 75,000 around the city.
I chose to support this nonprofit because its-commitment to the community has inspired me to move forward, and reminded me that recovery happens over time and with love.
Part of the proceeds of every bottle of Essentiel helps plant seeds of hope and healing.
